Version Update

Ethan emailed me to let me know that he has released a new version of AudioRack. This update contains the first beta version of ARStudio, the new GUI interface built in Cocoa and the first application in the ARSuite. You can download the latest version including source code here.

Please be advised that ARStudio is early beta software, incomplete, and potentially contains bugs. Caution should be used in a production environment.

Ridgway Meeting

Ethan, the lead developer, and I met this morning at the Cimmarron in Ridgway so Ethan could discuss the current application(s), do some brain dumping to help me get a better grasp of the application for documentation purposes, and to do a little discussing of future development efforts for ARSuite.

The depth and power of this application was quickly revealed in just a few minutes. ARServer is an amazing tool with an incredible breadth and depth of features. The current client, AudioRack 2.7.2 provides the user access to many of those features, but being written in RealBasic, has many UI issues and is a processor hog. Reliable enough for broadcast use, but will be replaced with a new suite of applications developed in Cocoa (Objective-C).

Learn more about the features and power of ARServer and contribute to the development of ARSuite in the Wiki. Ask question and participate in this open source effort in the Forum.
